Chevron Canada Resources (Chevron) is seeking qualified companies interested in providing Environmental Assessment services for the drilling of a single exploration well on EL 2359 offshore Nova Scotia. The environmental assessment is to be completed in 2001 for input to the Canada - Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) regulatory process to support timely planning and approvals for potential 2002 drilling operations. The planning of this well is in the early stages - no decision to proceed to drill a well will be made until some time in mid 2001. The well may or may not be drilled and all proposed times are subject to change. It is anticipated the Environmental Assessment will rely heavily on existing regional information, supplemented by site specific evaluation.

Companies responding to the request for EOI should provide information demonstrating their:
- Experience with environmental assessments for offshore drilling operations in general, and for offshore Nova Scotia in particular
- Experience in the design and execution of offshore benthic survey programs
- Company profile, including personnel, and office location
- Familiarity with CNSOPB Environmental Assessment requirements
- Familiarity with potential Canadian Environmental Assessment Act requirements

Interested Companies must have health, safety, and environmental management and quality management systems which meet, at a minimum, all requirements of C-NSOPB and all other appropriate regulatory process. Chevron will select qualified bidders from among the respondents to this EOI. In addition, interested Companies are required to complete the attached "Contractor Pre-Qualification" document that is to be submitted with their "Expression of Interest".

When responding, interested Companies should provide all relevant information in both hard copy and electronic (MS Word) format. All questions and expressions of interest should be directed to:
