PanCanadian Energy Corporation is proposing to develop its Deep Panuke gas prospect located offshore Nova Scotia, approximately 44 km to the West of Sable Island. The proposed development plan comprises three new platforms - a production platform (DPP),
a utilities and quarters platform (UQP) and a wellhead platform (WHP)- with two interconnecting bridges linking them to each other.
Up to 6 wells will provide production from the Deep Panuke development. Gas will be delivered to shore via one new export pipeline, of 24" NPS after processing offshore. Infield flow lines will be 8" NPS. The onshore landfall site for the export lines
will be in the Goldboro region.
PanCanadian Energy Corporation has appointed Accent-Saipem Energy Joint Venture to provide the Engineering Design study for this project.
During this phase we are seeking qualified companies for the supply of Type 1 and Type 2 major deck steel plate with the following characteristics:
Approximate quantity 3,000 tonnes
Thickness range 20-60 mm
Carbon Equivalent (max) 0.42%
Sulphur (max) (Type 1) 0.005%
Through thickness properties (Type 1) Z
Specified Minimum Yield Strength 325-350 MPa
Charpy V notch test 45 J avg / 32 J min at -50 deg C
CTOD test (t>40 mm) 0.25 mm at -20 deg C
Steel supplier will be required to provide evidence of weldability of the steel to meet equivalent toughness values in the heat affected zone (HAZ) with all key welding procedures.
Interested parties are required to have an implemented Quality Management System that meets the requirement of the ISO-9000 series of Standards and Safety Management System(s). Respondents must indicate company name, contact details, managers and key
personnel, company profile, and summary of related experience. The Deep Panuke Project will select qualified bidders from among the respondents to this EOI. Expressions of Interest must be received on or before March 23, 2002.
