Marathon Canada Limited seeks qualified companies for the provision of a Shorebase Facility to support Marathon Canada Ltd's. upcoming deepwater drilling project offshore Nova Scotia. The project, which is subject to final approval, will consist of a
single exploration well, with potential sidetracking opportunities once the well logs are evaluated. The project is estimated to commence between July 2001 and July 2002. The supply base will comprise a warehouse, offices, yard space and ship berthage
to the following minimum specifications; warehouse with heated office space and sleeping/living quarters that is able to accommodate at least 6 people, open outdoor-paved yard adjacent to warehouse, open outdoor gravel yard space, sufficient wharfage
immediately adjacent to the warehouse and yards to accommodate three offshore support vessels 85 metres in length, potable and drill water, bulk facilities that include cement, barite and gel, plus facilities for dock labor. The dock facility should also
have a mud plant capable of building waterbased and invert emulsion synthetic/LTMO muds. Such facilities to have access to a marine fuel supplier, the major Nova Scotia road and rail routes, direct and easy access for heavy transport vehicles and
economical distance from Marathon Canada Ltd's. drilling sites in Block EL 2377. Contractor to supply certified containers suitable for offshore use, to include cuttings boxes, to accommodate waste and recylables. Shorebase supplier is to supply, on a
24-hour basis all stevedoring and crane/forklift requirements for the movement of equipment and materials to and from the dockside facility to support vessels.
Interested parties must have health, safety, and environmental management and quality management systems which meet all requirements of Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB). Respondents must indicate company name, contact details, managers
and key personnel, company profile, and summary of related experience. Marathon Canada Limited will select qualified bidders from among the respondents to this EOI.
