Marathon Canada Limited seeks qualified companies for the provision of Subsurface Wellhead System & Services for its upcoming deepwater drilling program offshore Nova Scotia. Additionally, the wellhead company will be required to provide structural and
conductor pipe for this project. The project, which is subject to final approval, will consist of a single exploration well, with potential sidetracking opportunities once the well logs are evaluated. The project is estimated to commence between July
2001 and July 2002. The service includes the provision of a subsurface wellhead system and experienced personnel qualified to supervise all aspects of the subsurface wellhead system's implementation at the rig site, to include running and testing of the
wellhead and running the aforementioned large OD tubulars. Interested parties will be required to have shop facilities in the Metro-Halifax area.
The surface wellhead system shall be rated for sour service, meet the relevant API specifications and be rated for 103 MPa (15,000 psi). Qualified companies will have the ability to provide casing hangers with weight-set, metal-to-metal seals. Marathon
Canada Ltd's. proposed casing program may include the running of the following casing strings: 762 mm (36") , 473 mm (20"), 340 mm (13 5/8") & 245 mm (9 5/8"), with 178 mm (7 5/8") and 140 mm (5 +") contingency liners.
Interested parties must have health, safety, and environmental management and quality management systems which meet all requirements of Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB). Respondents must indicate company name, contact details,
managers and key personnel, company profile, and summary of related experience. Marathon Canada Limited will select qualified bidders from among the respondents to this EOI.
