Marathon Canada Limited seeks qualified companies for the provision of Tubular Inspection services for its upcoming deepwater drilling project offshore Nova Scotia. The project, which is subject to final approval, will consist of a single exploration
well, with potential sidetracking opportunities once the well logs are evaluated. The project is estimated to commence between July 2001 and July 2002. The service will include the inspection of Marathon Canada Ltd's. owned casing and third party
drillpipe and equipment in the Metro-Halifax area and offshore at the rig site. The inspections equipment and procedures shall meet API, ASNT, ASME and ASTM specifications where required. DS-1 Level 5 inspection certification is required on drill pipe,
HWDP, BHA components. Inspection service will be for tubular sizes ranging from 914 mm (36") to 139mm (5 +"). Drill string component sizes will range from 9 +" to 4". Inspection of non-magnetic components will also be required.
Inspection capability shall include:
- Visual, Dimensions and Traceability Verification
- Flourescent Wet Magnetic Particle Inspection
- Flouresent Dye Penetrant Inspection
- Full Length Ultra Sonic Testing
- Electromagnetic Inspection
Interested parties must have health, safety, and environmental management and accredited quality management systems which meet all requirements of Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB). Respondents must indicate company name, contact
details, managers and key personnel, company profile, and summary of related experience. Marathon Canada Limited will select qualified bidders from among the respondents to this EOI.
