is a fully integrated energy company focused on growth. Engaged in the
worldwide exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, the
company is active in over 14 countries and has production in eight. Through
Marathon Ashland Petroleum LLC, the company also refines, markets and
transports petroleum products in the United States. Marathon Canada Limited was formed in 1998 to pursue an active exploration and development program in Canada. As the Canadian business unit for Marathon Oil Corporation, Marathon Canada Limited plays an important role in the corporation's North American natural gas strategy. Marathon Canada Limited has two offices one in Calgary, Alberta to support operations in Western Canada, and the other in Halifax, Nova Scotia to support activity in Atlantic Canada. The company directly employs approximately 250 people in Canada. Marathon has interests in four offshore exploration licenses and is the Operator of the following deepwater licences: Annapolis, Cortland and Empire.
