General Requirements:
Personnel will staff the SOEI Communications Centre on a 7 x 24 basis to ensure
routine and emergency communications are maintained between shore and all
offshore facilities, vessels and aircraft. In addition, personnel will perform
remote radar watch duties for the main offshore Production platform as well as
monitor all Telecommunications facilities for alarms and initiate responses to
such alarms.
Personnel will require a radio operators certificate (land, sea, air) and the
ability to translate MANMAR and SAWR weather observations. In addition,
personnel will require proficiency in use of MS Word and MS Excel, and have the
ability to learn various other software packages specific to their work.
Personnel will require a good command of the English language and the ability to
remain calm under duress. Previous experience as a user of radar will be an
asset. Additional assets will be some knowledge relating to geomatics,
charting, weather forecasting, LAN's, PC's and various mode of
telecommunications.
