General Requirements: ExxonMobil Canada Properties (ExxonMobil) is seeking qualified contractors interested in providing logistic support and crane operations personnel for all ExxonMobil activities in offshore Nova Scotia. The work may be located on any
of the three existing offshore platforms: Thebaud, Venture and North Triumph and in future those under development: Alma, Gleneg and South Venture. In addition to the above work locations, it is possible that Newfoundland may be added at a later time
during the contract term.
Scope of Work
The Contractor shall identify and supply personnel to fill offshore based positions primarily associated with the logistic support and crane operations. Service is required seven (7) days per week on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. The Contractor is also
required to be available for emergency call out at all times (twenty-four hours per day) while working offshore.
The two Rigger/Storesperson will work on a 12 hour day basis and rotate opposite each other on a 14-day on, 14 day shift cycle. Duties will include all aspects of crane rigging and lifting techniques in the offshore platform environment as well as a
significant portion of marine based maintenance and housekeeping
The two Logistics Coordinators will work on a 12 hour day basis and rotate opposite each other on a 14-day on, 14 day shift cycle. These positions will encompass skills associated with manifesting marine material movements and helicopter personnel
management.
Crane operators will only be required during periods of high activity. When this occurs, the offshore requirement will be on a 12 hour day basis and will typically be from 7 to 14 days followed by equal number of days off. In keeping with the accepted
offshore industry practice, the Crane Operator is expected to be experienced and qualified in the helicopter landing officer role.
Deck personnel will be required on a more infrequent basis, and again during periods of high activity. The scope of work will be similar to the rigger's duties on a 7/14 day equal work time basis.
The ExxonMobil offshore operation will require those individuals occupying the above positions to assume additional safety support roles within the platform Station Bill and helicopter landing support. The specific duties can be found in the Job
Specification document.
Technical Requirements: All of the above positions are offshore based and will require Basic 5 day Survival Training, WHMIS and CNSOPB Offshore Awareness Training as a pre-requisite to offshore access.
Further to this, the technical requirements are summarized, but not limited to, per position:
Logistic Coordinator.
The position will encompass a wide range of marine knowledge and skills best summed up as suitable to those qualified to watch-keeping mate on merchant vessels. In addition, to fulfil the Company's offshore regulatory commitment and Station Bill emergency
roles, the following training is also required:
- Weather observation (MANMAR and SARS or METAR).
- Radio operation (marine, GMDSS qualified).
- HLO trained.
- Coxswain trained.
- Basic offshore fire fighting training.
- Basic First Aid or marine equivalent.
- Basis computer skills in Microsoft WordŽ and ExcelŽ.
Crane Operator
The position will require a crane operation trade certification recognized in Nova Scotia to journey person level. In addition, to fulfil the Company's offshore regulatory commitment and Station Bill emergency roles, the following training is also
required:
- HLO training
- Coxswain trained
- Basic offshore fire fighting training
- Advanced First Aid
Rigger/Storeperson
The position will require a marine competency certification (typically MED A1 or B1) and completion of an industry recognized course in rigging. In addition, to fulfil the Company's offshore regulatory commitment and Station Bill emergency roles, the
following training is also required.
- Heli-team training.
- Coxswain trained.
- Basic offshore fire fighting training.
Deck Hands
The position will require a marine competency certification (typically MED A1 or B1) and completion of an industry recognized course in Rigging. In addition, to fulfil the Company's offshore regulatory commitment and Station Bill emergency roles, the
following training is also required.
- Heli-team training.
