GENERAL
During the offshore installation of subsea gas pipelines by the pipelay
vessel Solitaire, there will be a requirement for Field Joint Coating
Services. The line-pipe id coated with FBE anticorrosion coating as well
as concrete weight coating During onshore coating procedures these
concrete and anticorrosion coatings are cutback approximately 360mm and
120mm respectively, at either end of the joint. This allows sufficient
space for offshore welding of joints by the pipelay vessel.
Field Joint Coatings for this scope of work will consist of FBE (fusion
bonded epoxy). Furthermore bidders will be requested to provide a field
joint coating system for polypropylene coated line-pipe. These coatings
will be applied during offshore pipelay operations on the pipelay vessel
Solitaire. The coating stations will be required in the pipelay
vessel's firing-line immediately following welding operations. The
coating station must operate on a 24-hour a day schedule.
The company that is awarded this work will be responsible for supplying
all material(including coating materials), manpower, management,
equipment, services, and all associated costs to insure timely
continuous coating of field joints during offshore pipelay operations on
board the Solitaire. The company that is awarded this work will also
have to provide transportation and offloading of all supplies,
equipment, and personnel to the dedicated offshore supply base.
Transportation to the vessel will be provided by ACAN. Offshore food
and accommodations will be provided for on the pipelay vessel.. All
personal working onboard the Solitaire will require The Offshore Basic
Survival Training course, this will not be offered by ACAN.
