below. Companies interested in pre-qualifying to bid on these work
packages should submit their corporate resumes, indicating amongst

GENERAL
During the offshore installation of sub-sea pipelines by the pipelay
vessel, there will be a requirement for supplying Heat Shrink Sleeves
of the mastic type for 3 inch MEG (mono-ethylene glycol) pipeline
field joints.
The 3 inch line-pipe is coated with FBE anticorrosion coating. The
onshore anticorrosion coating procedures, allow for cutbacks of
approximately 120mm at either end of the pipe joint. Upon
completion of a pipe weld on the pipe-lay vessel, this exposed section
of pipe must be coated to prevent corrosion of the joint.
3 inch MEG (mono-ethylene glycol) pipeline field joints will be
covered with heat shrink sleeves to prevent corrosion of the pipe. A
single sleeve is applied to cover the whole field joint area (240mm
wide) overlapping the FBE coating cutback on both sides of the weld by
a minimum of 50mm. Approximately 92km of 3 inch pipeline will be
installed, with a field joint every 12.2 meters..
The company awarded this work must provide the heat shrink sleeves,
transportation and offloading to the dedicated supply base along with
Quality Control documentation as required within the allotted time
frame.
DESCRIPTION:
The Scope of Work for field Joint Coating will consist of the
following:
1/ Supply approximately 8000 heat shrink sleeves of the mastic type
for 3 inch pipeline. Basic requirement:240 + 100mm wide and tested to
60 degrees C. working temperature.
The preliminary schedule for delivery of heat shrink sleeves is as
follows:
