The Sable Offshore Energy Project (SOEP) through its Contractor EMCC
(European Marine Contractors Canada) is requesting expressions of interest
from companies capable of Offshore Pipeline Field Joint In-fill Services as
described below. Companies interested in pre-qualifying to bid on these work
packages should submit their corporate resumes, indicating amongst others
expertise, QA and HS&E management system description, and relevant
experience, prior to the closing date indicated above. SOEP and EMCC reserve
the right to make the final determination of which firms will qualify to bid
on the project.
GENERAL
All gas that is collected through interfield gas pipelines will be sent to
the Goldboro gas processing plant through approximately 200 km 26-inch gas
gathering pipe line. During the installation of the 26-inch natural gas
gathering line, there will be a requirement on board the EMCC owned Laybage
SEMAC-1 for the Field Joint Infill.
The 26" Steel pipeline is welded together from 12m lengths. The individual
pipe joints are coated in Concrete , thicknesses range from 60mm to 104mm.
At each end of the 12m long pipe joints the concrete is cutback 0.35m to
allow the pipe joints to be welded. After completion of the welding the bare
steel is treated with an anti-corrosion coat FBE (fusion bonded epoxy)
approx. 1mm thick. Immediately upon completion of the FBE coat the gap
created between the ends of the concrete coat at the welded join is infilled
so that it is completely flush with the concrete coat.
There are three potential options:
* Supply only of Marine Mastic D2S
* Provision of Services for Field Joint Coating using only Open Cell
Urethane Foam
* Provision of Services for Field Joint Coating using a combination of
Open Cell Urethane Foam and aggregate approx content 85% ( approx size D=
5mm )
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
The company that is awarded this work will be responsible for supplying all
consumables, supervisory offshore manpower, management, equipment,
procedures and services, except for the Mastic option which is provision of
materials only.
It is estimated that for the entire 200km of 26" pipeline the void between
the joints will require a total infill volume of some 3200 cubic metres.
For both the Open Cell Urethane Foam options the service is required to be
performed on two joints simultaneously on the the Laybarge SEMAC-1. The
cycle time must be kept below 2 minutes repeated every 6 minutes or less.
PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE FOR PIPELAY
The preliminary schedule for the 26" Pipeline installation by SEMAC is June
and July 1999
CANADIAN CONTENT
Each prospective contractor must detail Canadian content, for equipment,
materials and manpower.
OPTIONAL MASTIC SUPPLY
To be supplied as solid slabs ( approx. 24"x12"x4") on pallets,
or in Granular form (800to 1000kg bags).
Mastic D2/S composition:
* Bitumen R85/25 13% by weight
* Filler (limestone) 17% by weight
* Aggregate (0 to 5mm) 68% by weight
