Sable Offshore Energy Incorporated (SOEI) has appointed Kvaerner SNC-Lavalin Offshore (KSLO) as their EPCM Contractor for the SABLE OFFSHORE ENERGY PROJECT Tier 2.
Companies interested in pre-qualifying to bid on project work should submit corporate resumes indicating relevant experience, capability and expertise with similar projects prior to the closing date indicated above. KSLO reserves the right to make the
final determination of which firms qualify to bid.
Contractor / Vendor shall note that the Owner may not have received project sanction at the time of Request for Proposal, however, it is the Owner's intention that project sanction and subsequent funding will be obtained for the scope of work outlined in
the Job Specification within the proposal validity period requested therein.
KSLO now seeks qualified contractors interested in providing the following:
Scope of Supply:
To supply Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) equipment and battery bank to maintain continuous on-line 120 V, 60 Hz power for short duration power losses to approximately 30 kW of various platform Emergency power loads including automation equipment,
telecommunications equipment and lighting fixtures.
UPS component configuration to include source power isolation circuit breakers, battery charger/DC rectifier, inverter, battery disconnect and nickel cadmium battery bank.
UPS features to include "hot standby" redundancy of main operating components, static bypass capability, maintenance bypass capability, full function operating controls and durable industrial environment component construction.
Suppliers must be able to demonstrate suitability of proposed equipment for long term operations in a marine, salt air environment with minimum maintenance requirements. Equipment will be located in a non-hazardous area location Electrical/Control room
on a Normally Unattended natural gas production platform located near Sable Island, Nova Scotia. Equipment to be supplied must be in conformance with applicable Canadian and Nova Scotia standards, codes and regulations.
ISO 9002 certification required.
Option to Increase Scope of Supply
Contractor / Vendor shall take into consideration the additional Sable Tier II platform requirements when preparing the submission for the Alma Development Project and the Owner's intent for the option to extend the current scope to future platforms where
applicable.
Schedule for Delivery
Bidding is planned for mid to late 2001 with delivery required in mid 2002.
Experience
Potential bidders must demonstrate that they have previously supplied similar units for installation on an offshore platform located in an analogous environment.
