The Sable Offshore Energy Project (SOEP)is requesting expressions of
interest from companies capable of Steel Pipe Machining Services as
described below. Companies interested in pre-qualifying to bid on this work package should submit their corporate resumes,indicating a.o. expertise, QA and HS&E management system description, and relevant experience, prior to the closing date indicated
above. SOEP reserve the right to make the final determination of which firms will qualify to bid on the project.
General:
During the onshore installation of 8 inch pipeline from Goldboro to Pt.
Tupper, there will be a requirement for Pipe Transition Pieces to provide a smooth internal transition in the pipeline between different wall thicknesses of pipe. Sections of pipe will have to be machined. The company that is awarded this work will be
responsible for supplying manpower, management, equipment, services, transportation of pipe to/from the SOEP stockyard at Goldboro and all associated costs. Pipe for machining will be provided by SOEP.
SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work for steel pipe machining will consist of the preparation of 219 pieces of 8 inch diameter 8.18mm Wall Thickness pipe, each piece 200mm long. One end of each piece of pipe will be machined to a 30 degree bevel suitable for butt welding to
8 inch pipe of 8.18mm WT.
The other end to have a 50mm long internal taper with a end bevel of 30
degrees suitable for butt welding to 8 inch pipe of 4.78mm WT.
