Memorandum: Waterfront Development Corporation Limited, a provincial crown
corporation, and the provincial Department of Tourism and Culture and Office of
Economic Development are seeking a private sector proponent for the development
of Queen’s Landing, a prime parcel of waterfront land. In association with the
development of this site is an opportunity to develop a vision and business case
for a public / private sector heritage attraction that builds on the unique
positioning of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic as one of North America’s
leading maritime heritage facilities. In the broadest sense this project is to
examine and if feasible integrate a private sector development opportunity with
a revitalized and expanded public attraction that together form an integral part
of a waterfront endowed with a significant maritime and naval heritage.
