Expressions of Interest - Student Housing Issuing Agency Address University of New Brunswick Office of the Associate Vice-President, Room 104 Sir Howard Douglas Hall, 3 Bailey Drive Fredericton, New Brunswick E3B 5A3 Contact: Spencer, Lloyd Phone: 1 (506) 453-4626 Fax: 1 (506) 453-4529 Notice # EXPRESSIONS OF INTER Closing Date & Time 2004/01/12 14:00 Atlantic Standard Time Call for Expressions of Interest to provide Professional Services Student Housing Units University of New Brunswick Fredericton Campus The University of New Brunswick is seeking to partner with an experienced developer, architect, or developer/architectural team to explore options for providing additional student housing for the UNB Fredericton Campus. The housing type being contemplated would provide a configuration that would respond to the needs of students seeking a more independent style of living as well as addressing the need for a more appropriate conference style facility. Options would include developing proposals where the private sector would partner with the university, to provide housing units on the core campus, or on adjacent university owned land. Professional firms or joint venture partners are invited to respond to this invitation by concisely describing: - their approach to engaging university appointed representatives in developing and evaluating alternative solutions - their experience in the design and delivery of projects of this type - the methodology proposed to determine the number and configuration of units - a concise outline of the options for financing the construction and operation of these units - a concise summary of the project delivery options and a brief commentary on advantages and disadvantages of these Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of these criteria. A short list will be chosen to make a more specific proposal, which will involve a written and verbal presentation to a Student Housing Planning Committee. Should the initial engagement lead to an acceptable model for additional student housing, in the University's sole discretion, the firm or team engaged would continue to work in partnership with the University toward the implementation and delivery of the chosen option. Submissions will be received by the Office of the Associate Vice-President (Campus Services and Planning), Room 104, Sir Howard Douglas Hall, 3 Bailey Drive, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, New Brunswick, E3B 5A3 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2004.
